Hey!
I'm Lola, the newest addition to the Thunder Flats Farm Family and the first milking recorded grade as a member of the Dixie Manor herd. I was born into the Scarlet Hills herd in 2016 and I've shown just how outstanding I am! I was first in my class for two year old milking Grades, similar to how Keepsake Dancer was first in her class of intermediate kids, and Champion Jr. Alpine. -Lola

Hey!
Along with the Marin County Fair last weekend we also attended the show in Gridley, Ca! I am the youngest member of the alpine herd (born may 3rd, 2017) as of right now, so I am still quite tiny but I love to watch my big cousins win the shows! At this show Plumette competed against Lynelle and Oakley and officially received her first leg...! Plumette: first place dry yearling AOP Grand Champion AOP -Gwendolyn Hey!
Lynelle, Oakley, Ruth and I swept up the rewards at the Marin County Fair this last weekend in Sr. and Jr. AOP division of the Dairy Goat show. Ruth: first place Intermediate kid - AOP Oakley: second place dry yearling - AOP Reserve Jr. Champion Lynelle: first place dry yearling - AOP Jr. Champion Rita: first place three year old milker - AOP Sr. Champion Grand Champion AOP Keepsake Dancer followed suit and was: first place intermediate kid - Alpine Reserve Jr. Champion - Alpine This show was not ADGA sanctioned so none of us received a leg, but we enjoyed our time showing off and hanging out with friends (the alpines shunned us so we had to hang with the humans:) ) -Rita & Oakley Hey!
Last weekend we hopped on over to the Angels Camp fairgrounds on Frogtown road;) I am a dry yearling Toggenburg, belonging to the Yabani Acre herd, that was born into the Bar XX herd in June of 2017 and purchased to bring in high quality Toggenburg dairy goat blood lines. I am growing to show just how much potential I will have when I freshen for the first time as a two year old in 2019! I added some bling to my owners list when I received a rosette for being the "Reserve Jr. Champion" in the Jr. Toggenburg show at the 2nd Annual Motherlode Dairy Goat Association show. - Lynelle Pictured below with the breeder of Lynelle and owner of Bar XX Toggenburgs, Leslie Cardoza! Hey!
We would like to give you some background about the herds in the Thunder Flats Farm Family (say that five times fast) before we embark on our blogging journey. The Yabani Acre herd belongs to Justin and he began with Nigerian's in 2016, with his first show being REDGA in 2017. In 2017 Tiffany also began to grow her herd under Dixie Manor, but did not begin showing until REDGA in 2018. The youngest of the bunch, Ethan, has also decided that he would like to raise dairy goats and has boldly decided to name his herd THUNDER HERD, fitting with the farm name. Each one of the herds has a different primary breed; Yabani Acre = Toggenburg's, Thunder Herd = La Mancha's, and we are two of the alpines from Dixie Manor. While we were strutting our stuff I (Plumette) received a rosette for "Best of Breed Jr. Division" and Keepsake Dancer received rosettes for being the "Reserve Jr. Champion", "Jr. Grand Champion", and "Best of Breed Jr. Division". You'll hear more from the rest of the herd members later on as we go to more shows! -Keepsake Dancer & Plumette |
